The sedative nature of the sap from this recognizable flower, the Poppy, induces sleep. Fantastical and imaginative visions arise through these dream states. This was portrayed in the Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy fell asleep as she ran through the Poppy fields, adding to her fanciful adventure.
